Core Mechanics
Scouting Missions involve assembling a squad, venturing beyond the walls, hunting Titans, building supply bases for resupply, and managing morale. The advance-or-retreat system forces strategic decisions — push forward for resources or retreat to preserve your squad.
Advantages
Exterior Scouting is a series-first feature that adds strategic depth beyond ODM combat. Resource management, base construction, squad morale, and the advance-or-retreat decision system create tense, consequential missions where every choice matters. Injuries and death are permanent, making squad composition and risk management critical.
Challenges
Permadeath means losing veteran squad members is permanent, which can be punishing for newer players. Supply base locations are limited, making extended scouting runs risky without proper planning.
